Terry Brooks – Icecon 2018 Guest of Honor

We are very excited to announce our second guest of honor at IceCon 2018, the award-winning American fantasy author Terry Brooks!

Brooks is the author of the long-running Shannara series and Landover novels.

His first novel, The Sword of Shannara, was published in 1977 and won the Locus Awards for best fantasy novel. It took Terry seven years to write the book, and it was an instant hit, remaining on the New York Times bestseller list for five months. All told, his Shannara series has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide, making it one of the most popular fantasy epics of all time. In 2017, Terry Brooks celebrated the 40th anniversary of his beloved Shannara series with the release of The Black Elfstone

Brooks has won the Locus Awards for best fantasy novel six times, the  Gemmel Awards for Fantasy seven times, as well as receiving 1999 Locus Awards for all-time best fantasy author and the World Fantasy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.

A television series based on Brooks’ Shannara novels, titled The Shannara Chronicles, ran for two seasons on MTV and SPIKE in 2016 and 2017 and is now available on Netflix.
